Below are commonly asked questions about the Thermocouple/RTD's we represent.
  • What is an RTD?
A Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD) is a term for a sensor that senses temperature by measuring the change in resistance of a material.

  • At what point is a thermocouple sensing temperature?
Any two metals that are dissimilar in their metallurgical makeup can be considered a thermocouple when they are joined together. The joined ends of the thermocouple are called the sensing junction.

  • What calibration of thermocouples are available?
The most common calibrations are “J” and “K”. Some of the other options include “E”, “T” and “S”.

  • Can a thermocouple be certified at a certain temperature?
We offer NIST certified thermocouples or verified thermocouples.
