Position Summary

The Advanced Service Technician’s primary responsibility is to provide service and support for the highly technical products sold by Sure Controls.  These include drives and drive systems, PLCs, SCADA packages, and discrete loop controllers.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performing field service, field calibration, advanced systems/drives configurations, advanced systems/drives repairs and other necessary services to support the life cycle of the drives, drives systems and controls systems.
  • Provide troubleshooting, service and start-up support for jobs including discrete controllers, PLC, or SCADA systems.
  • Provide design support for integration of discrete controllers, PLC, or SCADA systems.
  • Perform troubleshooting, calibrations and configurations on discrete controllers both in the shop and at the customer site.
  • Capable of leading the training classes offered to customers of Sure Controls in their area of expertise.

  • College Degree, Associate Degree or High school diploma; three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • The Advanced Service tech should have a familiarity with all of the technologies associated with the Controls Technician and in addition have a proficiency in:
    • Drives and Controls Systems
    • Communication Protocols {i.e., DeviceNet and Modbus}
    • Develop an expertise in one of the following areas:  PLC Control, AC/DC Drive Control, SCADA systems.
